Here’s how it all started

I’m Linda and I’m a maker! I love scrapbooking, art journals, mixed-media, DIY and gardening!

My journey into the arts began in the late 90s when a co-worker-turned-friend invited me to attend a Friday Night Crop with her at a local scrapbook store. I had no idea what I was in for. I took some photos with me and discovered that night that I could make art.

I hadn’t inherited those talented drawing skills from my mother that I so wanted. I could sit and practice for hours with paper and pencil but it just never happened. My drawings were flat and lifeless, but with Scrapbooking – and now Art Journaling – I can make art – and make it my way!

My crafting led me to a position managing a local scrapbook store where I discovered that I really enjoyed teaching others. My teaching repertoire has taken me to several scrapbook and stamp stores in Michigan where I shared my skills with so many wonderful students. As those local stores closed and then Covid moved in, I’ve made it my goal to set up a new web site and blog where I can share the joy of crafting with so many others. As adults I believe we all need to make time for creative play!

Through the years I’ve served on Design Teams for Xyron, Art Glitter, Dreamweaver Stencils, and Globecraft. My projects have graced the beautiful pages of Somerset Studio, Somerset Memories, and Somerset Apprentice. I am a paper crafter at heart, but my love of incorporating other mediums has led me to branch out into mixed media and art journaling. Teaching allows me the opportunity to share my passion with others.

So, whether it’s building a pretty scrapbook page, or creating an art journal spread, I intend to share those learned skills with all of you here on my blog - even though Bailey (my cute adoptee) is trying his best to get my full attention! I invite you to stick around and visit often.

My Absolute Delights

The Old Guy

Me and the old guy have been together for nearly 54 years. Dated for four weeks, then married in a small ceremony. When you know, you know, right?

Our Motley Crew

We have three kids, Scott, Kevin, and Rachel - in that order. They’ve been our source of entertainment for years! And we wouldn’t have it any other way!

Friends

I believe I have the best group of crazy friends a person could possibly enjoy! We’ve all been through a lot together but never lose sight of the fact that we are friends!

Outdoor pleasures

Being a Michigander, I wait through a long, cold, and snowy five months to get outdoors and play in the dirt! Gardening is nature’s way of displaying art.
